of directors for the American Soy
bean Association announced the
confirmation of John McClendon
from Marianna, Ark., as the asso
ciation’s new chairman, and John
Long from Newberry. S.C., as the

association’s new president
The board also elected David
Erickson from Altona, 111., as first
vice president; Roy Bardole from
Rippey, lowa, as secretary; and
Dave Younkman from W. Liberty,
Ohio as treasurer.
The board also elected four vice
presidents: Marie Berg from Tripp,
S.D.; John Blaska from Marshall,
Wis.; Fletcher Clark from Rule
ville. Miss.; and Mike Yost from
Murdock, Minn.
These nine officers form the
Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 12,1N5>E5
executive committee for the asso
ciation.
David Erickson, who will be
come the president of the Associa
tion next year, told the directors,
“I will work to enhance communi
cation throughout the organiza-
don, and I believe a major rede for
the association is to continue to
develop leadership programs for
board members, and other farmer
leaders, throughout the associa
tion.”
