The intake housing can be quickly folded down from the cylinder housing. You can then inspect the shearbar and the drum easily
and in no time, and adjust the knives to contact with the shearbar. In seconds and without tools.
The power transmission from the engine to the chopping cylinder is as direct as can be, without any detours. A single multi-vee
powerband keeps the speed steady at all times and features very high efficiency.
Using the low pressure hydraulic system, the driver engages a single plate dry clutch which sets the permanently tensioned belt •
in motion. Straightforward design with high mechanical efficiency.
The impressive CLAAS chopping cylinder is a full 29.5" wide, has 20 or 24 knives in V-formation and the JAGUAR 880 and 860
reach a cutting frequency of 14,400 cuts per mlntue. The knives are adjusted to just touch the shearbar This contact adjustment
is done without toots, and guarantees the top quality chop for which the JAGUAR range is famous.
The intake housing is in one piece, and can be quickly separated from the cylinder housing. This way, you gain unimpeded
access to the cylinder without delay.
Sharp knives and exact shearbar adjustment keep output high and fuel costs low. These new machines feature as standard an
automatic sharpening system.

The drum is sharpened while rotating forwards, and is sharpened up after just a few passes.
Electrical shearbar adjustment from the driver's seat is an agreeable refinement. You simply preselect the number of passes for
grinding, set the required distance of the knives to the shearbar, and press a switch. The complete operation is automatic.
