Over 160 Entries At First Northern Tier District Holstein Show

MESHOPPEN (Wyoming Coun
ty) Strains of organ music
filled the air as over 160 cows and
heifers were guided around the
decorated arena at the first annual
Northern Tier District Holstein
Show.
Held at the Wyoming County
Fairgrounds on August 3, the show
was the result of months of plan
ning after state Holstein directors
at their February meeting unanim
ously voted to split the Northeast
district. 1
Both Lynn and Bonnie Miller
and Lloyd and Denise Pease made
marks in the record book as they
were named premier breeder and
premier exhibitor respectively.
The Millers also captured the
grand champion position in the
senior division with junior 3-year
old Royal Haven Inspire Quinn.
Taking the reserve grand champ
ion spot was the second place
junior 3-year-old owned by John
and Sandy Crawford, Everitts-Vue
Blackstar Lois.
In the youth show, grand
champion and reserve grand
sents the Junior champion trophy to Steve Pavelskl while
Bonnie Miller holds her reserve junior champion In the open
division.

of senior 3-year-olds.
Matthew Pease took the top
place with his class winner, C
Frankcor Magic. The reserve posi
tion was held by Shelly Wood
mansee’s Jericho Dairy Logic
Charm.
A junior exhibitor’s animal was
in the limelight in both the senior
and junior divisions when judge
Gary Culbertson, of Hobart, N.Y.
picked the junior champions.
Steve Pavelski won the honor of
being die junior champion in both
divisions as his fall calf, JoSan
Counselor Flora, took the top
position.
“It’s always fun when the
juniors beat the seniors,” Culbert
sdh laughed, as he announced his
winner.
Named reserve junior champion
in the senior division was Lynn
and Bonnie Miller’s Royal Haven
Queenie - ET, a spring calf.
In the junior division, the judge
selected Adam Fraley’s winter
yearling, Ban-Queen Sons Raider
Rosy.
