816-Lanc«ster Farming, Saturday, July 22, 1995 A Real 4-H County Fair On July 27-29 the Gloucester County 4-H Fairgrounds in Mulli ca Hill will become a beehive of activity. Route #77 will swarm with a steady stream of vehicles bringing 4-H’ers and their exhibits to show off fof the three days of the annual Gloucester County 4-H Fair. The animal bams will burst with rabbits, horses, pigs, goats, steers and cows, while the exhibit bam will show visitors 4-H wood working, needlework, quilts, crafts, vegetables and flowers. Ex hibiting marks the culmination of a full year of work for 800 4-H members. These school-age chil dren are part of Gloucester Coun ty’s 4-H youth program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension and Glou cester County. A full schedule of events over the three days will provide some thing for any age group. The 1995 Fair boasts an exciting schedule of events. Gloucester County Ambassa dors will be named on Thursday evening following a day including horse, swine, sheep and dairy goat shows. Albert Scott 4-H Alumnus of the Year will be honored fol lowing the Ambassador Contest Thursday, July 27 at 8 p.m. will also feature a “Celebrity Contest.” - Come see local celebrities com pete in a goat milking and water melon eating contest. Friday’s annual shows will in clude dairy, rabbits, and horses. At 7 p.m., the stage area will be the site of the 4-H Fashion Show, fea turing models who have both pur chased and constructed their out fits. Doc Holliday's Country & Western Band will provide eve ning entertainment. The Old Woman in the Shoe and Mother Hubbard will entertain children from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Little Miss Peach will be named ✓ as well as 1995 Peach Queen. Saturday is “Kids Day.” Activi ties will include a fun carnival, ba by parade, diaper derby, turtle race, and frog jumping contest For the entire family, the fair will offer police canine demonstration, karate show, and the Keystone Cloggers. Saturday at 1 p.m., the 4-H Fair Fun Carnival will usher in the af ternoon of “Kids Events.” The Senior 4-H Council sponsors this series of games and contests for the younger set. Prize 4-H market lambs and hogs will be auctioned off Friday evening, July 28 at 7 p.m. at the 4-H Fair. More than 50 animals will be auctioned.
