Check specific gravity of eggs on a regular basis to
monitor shell quality The percent “floaters" and “eggs in
transition” in a room temperature solution of 1.08 sp gr
is a good bench mark

scale is all the equipment you need Used with breeder
guidelines, this test can help you fine-tune the level of
oyster shell needed at each stage in the laying cycle.

jumbo in New England was higher. The
market tone was steady. Demand remained
mixed across the full range and was mosuy
moderate, best into vacation areas, and
retail stores with features. Supplies of jum
bos remained tight, extra-large were tight
to adequate, large were mostly adequate to
instances fully adequate, mediums were
adequate to ample, and smalls were mixed.
Breaking stock supplies were adequate.
Li-'e hen offerings were at least adequate
for the minimal demand.
