Lancaster Society 6 Lancaster Society of Farm Women No. 8 met on June 14 at Grace Heilbron’s farm in Mariet ta. Helen Wivell gave devotions and hostesses were Martha Dra ger, Gladys Ney, Vera Frey, and Grace Heilbron. Virginia Ranck, who owns Verdent View Farm, a Bed and Breakfast Inn at Paradise, gave a talk on operating tliis type ' * *> .5. V - * of business. Sylvia Kuch read a humorous poem and the members were honored with a visit from Amy Esbenshade, Lancaster Dairy Princess. On July 12, the group will meet at 12 Noon at the Amos Herr House at 1756 Nissley Rd. The program con sisted of Dawn Groff telling about ‘The Life Of Amy Carmichael” and Anna Marie Groff played the organ. Millie Herr, Mary Louise Landis, and Ruth Longenecker were hostesses. On May 10, 18 ladies met at Strasburg Mennonite Church for a Mystery Car-a-Rama. First they went to the home of Rhoda Landis in Strasburg and woe served a delicious ham dinner. Hostesses were Rhoda Landis. Anna Marie Groff and Helen Herr. Next they went to Patrick McEvoy Gilt Shop (formerly The Tobacco Shed), the Lancaster Society 18 On May 15, the Farm Women of Society #lB substituted a bus trip to Gettysburg t'r * *< t <> 'A, 5 '■k' \ v -*■ Choo Choo Barn and Amish Country Crafts Store. They con tinued to the home of Thelma Gtaybill to see her collection of 3,000 pigs. They were even saved “pig cookies.” To end the day they went to Coleman’s Ice Cream Shop. On May 23,10 ladies from the group joined with 868 other Farm Women from PA for the 30th Spring Rally at Dickinson College in Carlisle. On Wednesday, June 14, 19 ladies had lunch together at Her shey Farm Restaurant. After lunch, most of them enjoyed a game of miniature golf at the Vil lage Greens. The June meeting of Farm Women Society #lB was held at Landis Homes with Amy Martin as hostess.
