UNIVERSITY PARK (Centre Co.) —The Penn State Dairy Sci ence Club and the Pennsylvania Holstein Association will team up to sponsor the 12th annual Nittany Lion Fall Classic consignment sale Saturday, Nov. 11. In addition to a strong Holstein lineup, this year’s sale will include the addition of 10-15 high quality Jersey consignments. The Pen nsylvania Jersey Cattle Associa tion is supporting the sale. Last year’s sale averaged $1,524 on 68 Holsteins, and the 1993 sale averaged $1,963 on 70 lots. This year’s sale committee is looking forward to the 1995 Fall Classic sale being the best ever. The sale managers and selection committee will be visiting Hols tein breeders in the next few months to select cattle. The goal for this year’s sale is to select approximately 70 top quality springing Holstein heifers and young Holstein cows. In addi tion, a select group of pedigreed calves will be sold.
