Feeder Cattle
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK
JUNE 21, 1995
Compared to last Monday: Feeder cattle
steady to 2.00 lower, with heifers and over
BSO lb steers at greatest declines. Feeder
market opened 1.00-2.00 lower and
improved toward steady at the market
progressed. Demand turned very good by
1:00 P.M. Monday's increase in com
futures it thought to be caused by China's
entry to the com market over the weekend,
had an adverse affect on opening
sr cattle futures. However, feeder
it and the live market fought back to
. steady at COF report's high May
(cements left questions at to how many
rling feeders will be available this sum
, Steer and heifer calves 2.00-3.00 low
a light test; farmers busy themselves
harvest and have little interest in
ring calves at this time. Feeder flesh
ition rather attractive to buyers with
L in slightly thin to medium flesh,
igh conditions average to many full and
'jar to past two weeks. Quality plain
attractive, mostly plain to average,
jhter cows firm to 1.00 higher.
Slaughter bulls steady to 1.00 lower.
Slaughter demand remains good with
northern buyers continuing to dominate the
market. Total of 370 cows and bulls sold
with 65 percent to packers.
Receipts this week 12,400; hut week
9,544; last year 7,892.
Supply included 84 percent yearlings
over 600 lbs; 13 percent calves under 600
lbs; 3 percent cows and bulls.
Prices follow with weighted average
weight and price in parenthesis.
