“I donated the painting because
I’m really impressed by what I see
happening at the school,” Rosanne
said. This is the first year, that

The Burkholders’ daughter Sara
is in kindergarten.
“She is really at an impression
able age and is absorbing values.
The teachers are excellent and the
values taught are worthwhile,”
Rosanne said of her decision to
invest some of her own talent to
raise money for the school.
It’s one of the reasons that many
other parents, relatives, and friends
say have influenced them to donate
time, talent, and items to the
school’s 18th annual auction that
begins on Friday, June 23 through
June 24.
Food and fun begin with a chick
en barbecue from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
on Friday.' The auction begins at 6
p.m. on Friday with crafts, flowers.
Raise Money For School Benefit
and certificates to be sold. At 8
p.m., a Winross truck and collecti
ble toy auction will begin.
Friday evenings is the time to
preview the artwork and other
items to be sold the following day.
Saturday events begin at
6:30-9:30 a.m. with country style
buffet breakfast. A large variety of
Lancaster County foods will be
available throughout the day.
The auction begins at 9 a.m. with
plants to be auctioned at 10 a.m.
and certificates at 10:30 a.m.
The name Ben Brubaker is well
known for doll houses. This year
for the first time, Brubaker has
crafted a Adirondack log cabin.

Other crafts include spool dolls

baskets. The quilt auction includes
designs such as Wedding Ring,
Log Cabin Heart, Grandmother
Fan Log Cabin, Rose of Sharon,
Lancaster County Rose, Stars Over
Georgetown, arid many mote.
In addition to Rosann’s waterco
lor, 21 other art pieces will be auc
tioned on Saturday.
As a member of the school’s art
committee, Rosanne helped gather
work from artists Todd Ream,
Mary Trees, Rosene Hollingcr, and
Marilyn Dwyer. Limited edition

Throughout Friday evening and
all day Saturday, children's activi
ties and entertainment will con
tinue. Sand art, face painting, train
and pony rides, a ping pong gold
fish toss, a bouncing castle, a dunk
ing tank, Spaiky the Clown, and a
balloon sculptor are on the agenda.
