QUESTION Several years ago, Harold R. Stoudt of
Hamburg purchased aluminum-clad electric fence wire by
direct shipment from South Star Industries in Tenn. The deal
er discontinued his business. Does anyone know of the com
pany or one that sells similar high quality aluminum clad male
able steel wire? It did not recoil when unspooled and could be
hand spliced.
QUESTION A Lehighton reader would like to know the
market price for goose and duck eggs.
QUESTION Marian Mosemann, Summit Hill, would like
to know where to purchase gift boxes for jellies and breads.
Candy boxes are too small.
ANSWER Marian Mosemann, Summit Hill, wanted the
paper puzzles that were sometimes given away by the John
Deere tractor franchises. Thanks to Esther Miller. Coatsville,
who calls herself a John Deere fan, for answering. She writes
that the source for the puzzles is Farm Art USA, P.O. Box
1947, Greely, CO 80632-1947. One must send $2 for the
catalogue, the $2 will be applied to the first order.
ANSWER Scott Strosnider of Stephens City, Va.,
wanted information on old marbles and also where marbles
can be purchased in large amounts. Thanks to Marvin
Bucher, who writes that 50 marbles for $3 may be purchased
from Hancock Importing Inc.* San Antonio, Texas 78219.
(Note to Marvin: You also had a morning glory seeds for sale,

ANSWER —Florence Fisher, Etters, wanted to know what
to do to keep pigeons off a tin roof. Thanks to Marvin Bucher
who writes that he raised homing pigeons for 26 years. The
trick to keep them off the roof is to fasten a rag doll, cator plas
tic owl on the roof. A few years ago, a cat got in the loft and the
pigeons were so scared that they didn't return for five days
after the cat was removed.
ANSWER E. Walsh from Auburn wanted the name and
phone number of a business that sells round pens for training
horses. Thanks to Connie Nesteruk, Perkasie, who writes that
the business name is Priefert Mfg. Co., Mt. Pleasant, TX.
(1-800-527-8616). The company supplies portable corral
panels for nationally known trainer Tom Lyons. Priefert has
local distributors such as Central Tractor Farm and Supply in
Quakertown. To figure the number of panels needed, multiply
the diameter of the pen (60 feet) by 3.14 to get the circumfer
ence. Divide circumference by panel length to be used (10 or
12 feet) to get the number of panels. The odd figure you’ll get
allows for a gate or for one or two shorter panels to keep the
correct diameter.
ANSWER Anna Grace Moore, Cochranville, wanted to
know how to make crafts with Christmas and birthday cards.
Thanks to Margaret Diamond, Kunkletown for sending
instructions for a bowl. They are too long to print in the paper.
Anna Grace, please send your complete address and we will
mail the instructions to you. Also, thanks to Leora Petet. She
will send a free book with many patterns if Anna Grace sends
her complete address to Leora at R.D 1, Box 245, Hollsopple,
PA 15935.
ANSWER Betty Bixler, Marietta, had asked for a copy
of "Country Woman.” She writes that she received seven
copies. She is surprised and amused by this response, but
does not need any more copies, thank you

12-inch pizza pan. Bake at 350
degrees for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, brown ground beef,
onion, and garlic. Drain fat. Add
sauce, Italian seasoning, and
mushrooms. Simmer.
Spoon meat mixture over pizza
crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella
cheese. Bake for 10-12 minutes or
until cheese is melted. Cut into
wedges. Makes 6 servings.
We run a campground, and this
is a quick supper to pul together. I
use low fat cheese, slam milk, and
only egg whites to reduce the fat.
Sometimes you don’t have time
to get a big meal and cold food
isn't fun to eat. So the pizza can be
reheated quickly in a microwave
oven, also.
