Kristy Wilson Named
Outstanding Ag Student
Krisly Wilson, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Wilson of Delta,
was recently named winner of the
1995 Dekalb Agricultural Accom
plishment Award.
The award, sponsored nation
wide by Dekalb Genetics Corpo
ration, is presented to the out
standing senior agriculture student
demonstrating superior scholar
ship, leader and supervised agri
cultural program. Presenting the
award were advisors Jerry Hughes
and Dianna Dellinger.
Kristy attends Kennard-Dale
H.S., where she has been FFA
treasurer, secretary, and she was
also York County reporter. Her
agricultural program consists of
dairy heifers. Following gradua
tion, she plans to attend York
Technical Institute.
As this year’s winner, Kristy
receives a pin and certificate, and
her name will be inscribed on a
special plaque displayed in the
agriculture room. The Dekalb
Cedar Crest FFA
Participates In
- Regional Contest
On May 2, the Cedar Crest FFA
entered the Eastern Regional Par
liamentary Procedure Contest.
The team place second and will
get to go on to state competition at
Penn State University in June.
The contest consisted of eight
FFA members who demonstrated
parliamentary abilities in an FFA
meeting. The team could present
unfinished and new business, but
the meeting had to uo completed

Twin Valley FFA Members
Receive State
FFA Record Book Honors
Twenty-nine members of the
Twin Valley FFA chapter entered
record books in the recent Pen
nsylvania FFA Record Book
Contest.
The 29 received 34 medal
awards f(»: their records.
All students in all of the agricul
ture courses at Twin Valley High
School are required to keep record
bodes. Records may be kept on
pets, farm animals or crops, jobs,
research projects, improvemqpt
projects, skills development pro
ject, or wildlife conservation
projects.
Students have their record
books graded once a month by
agriculture teacher Ronald Freder
ick. Employers and former stu
dents have both stated that the
ability to keep and understand
records is one of the most impor
tant things to learn while in
school.
Top record books from FFA
chapters are selected to compete
in the state FFA Record Book
Contest, where they are judged
based upon neatness, complete
ness, and accuracy. *
Students from across the state
are eligible to enter their records.
The records entered in the state
contest are scored by a committee
?f agriculture teachers from across
die state with the current student
teachers in agricultural education
helping to score.
All records are given a numeri
cal score with only the very best
receiving gold, silver, or bronze
medal awards.

On April 25, the Cedar Crest
FFA participated in the Berks,
Lebanon, and Schuylkill Regional
Contests. The contests were held
at Manheim Township High
School and various farms around
the county.
