4-H’ers Meet Legislators At Capitol Days
HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) Approximately 140
4-H members from across Pennsylvania gathered at the
state’s capitol to learn more about the departments of agri
culture, education, and other resources recently during the
State 4-H Capitol Days.
The event, held late April in Harrisburg, brought
together4-H’ers from various county clubs in the two-day
program. The event shows how the state government
works and helps 4-H’ers understand their responsibilities
as citizens. Each 4-H member chooses a particular state
agency for an in-depth visit
During the first day of the program, Friends of 4-H
donors were recognized with a banquet The donors were
seated with the 4-H’ers so they could learn about different
4-H programs. On the second day, 4-H’ers were joined by
senators and representatives at a legislative breakfast The
day ended with a tour of the state’s capitol and visits to
legislators’ offices.
