LEESPORT (Berks Co.) —Jen- nifer Davis wears the Berks Coun ty dairy princess crown with pride. She is no newcomer to dairy prom otion as she was a former alternate dairy princess. Crowned at the Berks County pageant held at the county Agricul tural Center on Saturday, May 6, Jennifer will be assisted in promo tional duties by Carrie Hetrick and Sherry Hoffman. The 19-year-old princess helps her parents Ray and Frances Davis of Leesport on their 350-acre JMJ- Springpond Farm where they milk 61 Holsteins. She is the teen lead er and vice president for the Berks County Junior Holstein Club. Alternates Carrie Hetrick and Sherry Hoffman and Li’l Miss Dairy Princess Margaret (Maggie) Heller will help with promotional duties. Carrie Hetrick is the 19-year-old daughter of Randall and Cynthia Hetrick of Boyertown. She helps with milking 100 Holsteins on the 300-acre farm owned by her grandfather and managed by her father. She is also attending Penn State Berks County Dairy Princess Jen Davis is congratulated by her parents, Ray and Frances Davis, during the pageant. Berks Campus, where she is majoring in agricultural science and is a member of the Ag Club. Carrie was active in FFA before graduating from Oley Valley High School in 1993. She is now a can didate for state office. In 1993-94, Carrie spend a year in Germany as an exchange student. Sherry Hoffman, the 17-year old daughter of Barry and Karen Hoffman of Oley, helps with the family’s 360-acre Holsteing farm. Her father is a milk Cheming, N.Y. Crowns Kathleen Jenkins CHEMUNG, N.Y.—Kathleen Jenkins is Chemung County’s 1995-’96 Dairy Princess. She is a junior at Coming-Painted Post West High School. Kathleen enjoys making new Mends, meet ing people, walking, doing crafts, and working with children. She especially has enjoyed showing cows and caring for them at the Chemung County Fair. Kathleen is 16 years old and is the daughter of Timothy and Lois Jenkins. She has one brother, John. She is sponsored by the farm of Earl and Rosanna Audinwood.
