Antique Show June 2-4
KEMPTON (Berks Co.)—The
Antique Engine, Tractor and Toy
Club, Inc. will hold its 10th annual
show on June 2-4 at the Kempton
Community Center located on Rt
143 north of the Kempton exit of
1-78.
On Friday, setup will begin at 8
a.m. and continue throughout the
day. There will again be organized
tractor pulling by the Pennsyl
vania Tractor Pullers Association.
A tractor skill driving competi
tion will begin at 6 p.m. Friday
and continue throughout the even
ing- Exhibitors of the engine club
will be running antique engines
and farm equipment during all
days and evenings.
Op Saturday morning, the slow
engine contest will begin at 11
a.m. followed by the antique trac
tor parade at noon. At 1 p.m. there
will be a slow tractor race, 2 p.m. a
teeter-totter competition, and at 3
p.m. antique tractor pulling. To
qualify as an antique tractor for
die competition, the manufactur
ing date of the tractor must be
before 1959 and the tractor may
not be modified. Following the
$2,266 with the high seller at
$7,500. The Buckeye Dairy Club
sale featured Jerseys with a $1,365
average and a high selling animal
at $4,000. The jointly managed
Buckeye Dairy Club and Ohio
Holstein Association Holstein sale
was topped by a $6,500 heifer and
averaged $1,503.
Youth participation was tre
mendous. More than 500 youth
participated in the 4-H and FFA
Dairy Judging Contests from Ohio
apd surrounding states. Three age
divisions of dairy showmanship
antique pull, the 5,500-, 7,500-,
and 9,500-pound stocks will be
run.
Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
there will be a slow engine contest
(winning engines of the previous
day may not compete) and at noon
an antique tractor parade. At 1
p.m. there will be a kiddie pedal
pull, at 2 p.m. a barrel rolling con
test, and at 3 p.m. a blindfold driv
ing contest. At 1 p.m. there will be
pulling in the 11,500-, 13,500-,
15,500-stock tractor classes fol
lowed by two pulling classes of
4-wheel drive street legal trucks,
365 c.i. and under and those over
365 c.i.
Flea market, crafts, and ven
dors* spaces will be available for
the duration of the show. Antique

PDCA Judging School officiated
by Steve White of New Castle,
Ind., had nearly 60 registered par
ticipants. Individuals in this group
make up the official judging list
for many Ohio shows and fairs.
The dates for next year’s Ohio
Spring Dairy Spectacular are set
for April 4-6, 1996.

A parking donation of $2 per
car will be requested at the gate.
No alcoholic beverages will be
allowed upon the show grounds.
