When traveling through Susquehanna or Wayne counties in the early morning hours, and you pass a vehicle along your route, chances are good that you passed a member of the Williams family. Gary, Scott and Gale Williams are deeply committed to providing top notch service for PaDHIA. Currently the Williams’ family is responsible for serving parts of Susquehanna and Wayne County. This includes servicing a total of 78 hyerds. Usually Gary is respon sible for 36 herds and Scott is. responsible for 42 herds, while Gale serves as an assistant. Along with working for Pa.DHIA, the Williams family is deeply involved in community projects and organizations. Gary has been a state constable for the past 10 years. Gail is cur rently president of the Starrucca Borough Council where she has served for the past 10 years. After talcing a quick look at the past history of the family, it doesn’t take long to realize that they arc not afraid of hard work and commitment Gary has been a Pa.DHIA tech nician for the past 1214 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1982, after 21 years service, and having achieved the rank of senior master sergeant. One special award that Gary received while in the Air Force was the Airman’s Medal for Hero ism, an honor he received in 1979. In the past. Gary also had the opportunity to work with the Boy Scout program for 16 years, where he earned the Silver Beaver Award. He said this award was very special because he also was recognized as an Eagle Scout in his younger days. He also has an associate degree in business management. Scott has been a Pa.DHIA tech nician for eight years. He said that strong leadership within the family unit gave him the encouragement to strive to earn the Eagle Scout Award. Along with the everyday duties of a technician, Scott also serves a* a representative on the Technician Advisory Committee. In addition to a full circuit, Gary also serves as a senior technician. The job duties of a senior techni cian include assisting the region manaer with promotion, training, and substituting for other technicians. PaDHIA is proud to have such a hard working, committed family representing them in today’s cvery-changing DHIA world.
