" THERE’S MORE TO IT THAN JUST NPK” For over 47 years, farmers throughout the Mid-Atlantic Area from New York to Virginia have produced millions of dollars of crops using Lebanon Extra fertilizer. Lebanon Extra is an ammoniated, homogenous, granular NPK fertilizer. With the increased emphasis on using less and precise applications of plant food, Lebanon Extra provides the nutrient sources that you can depend on, and not just NPK but also secondary and six micro-nutrients. The nutrient integrity of Lebanon Extra is superior to bulk blend fertilizer products. When using row applications or banding accurate amounts of plant food it can be important to use a safe, quality, uniform grade product. If you are using a blend with MAP compare the value of Lebanon Extra. also June 27 and Aug. 29. As patriotic Americans who serve as stewards of our country’s land and water resources; as a peo ple that appreciate and respect God’s creation, why must we be paid not to destroy or damage fra gile environmental resources such as springs, seeps, streams, wet lands, and endangered species’ habitat such as bald eagle nesting sites? Paradoxically, it is more fre quently the case that private prop erty values are increased by tax payer or government investments in such improvements as roads, utilities, parks, and by favorable zoning. Should not the property owner reimburse the government in these cases in order to be consis tent with your philosophy? Also, should not a private landowner reimburse his or her neighbors when the use or abuse Qf their property results in a decline in val ue to his neighbor’s property? And should not the landowner, when his exceptional stewardship of his LEBANON EXTRA PLANT FOOD Ammoniated Granular Fertilizer Homogenous Secondary and Micros Uniform Analysis Low Chlorine for Sensitive Crops Safer to use in row applications Economical to use on all Crops Get the Starter Effect by staying 2x2 Excellent for No-till Com Lebanon Chemical Corporation Baltimore, MD 800-343-9085 EXTRA Granulated Starter Fertilizer For more information on Lebanon Extra Fertilizers Lancaster County Clean and Green deadline. Private property rights need to be protected. Just compensation when land is purchased by the gov ernment is critical. (Also purchase of eminent domain needs to fully be justified before being applied.) Landowners, however, need not be paid to be good stewards. That is our responsibility and accompa nies the right to own land. Paul Solomon New Freedom Editor’s Reply: Thanks for your thoughtfully written letter. We can easily agree with your “philosophy” if we may also add a prentheses. (The taking of wetlands and the protection of endangered species must be fully justified before applied.) Landowners, however, must be paid when good steward ship has nothing to do with the tak ing of land for environmental rea sons. That is the government’s responsibility and accompanies the right to take private land for hidden agendas to disrupt food production and/or the disruption of the use of America’s God-given vast wealth of renewable resour ces, such as timber or corn.
