To promote Pennsylvania’s tree fruit industry. Agriculture Se cretary Charles C. Brosius is seek ing the names of wholesale fruit growers, packers and shippers to be included in a new directory. In the past, retail fruit growers have been given the opportunity to be listed in the “Consumer’s Guide to Pennsylvania Farm Mar kets.” However, in keeping with Gov. Tom Ridge’s promise to pro mote Pennsylvania’s leading in dustry, Brosius said he believed it appropriate to create a new direc tory for wholesale fruit growers, packers, and shippers. “Buyers could use this booklet as a guide to some of the best tree fruit in the nation,” Brosius said. The directory will list whole sale fruit growers, packers, and shippers of apples, peaches, nec tarines, pears, tart and sweet cher ries, plums, and other tree fruit Tliose involved in the whole sale tree fruit industry who are in terested in being listed in the directory should request an appli cation from the Agriculture De partment.
