Rominger is a family fanner
who worked with his brother, sons
and nephews to raise alfalfa,
beans, com, rice, safflower, sun
flowers, tomatoes, wheat and other
crops in California. He served in
government as director of the Cali
fornia Department of Food and
Agriculture from 1977 to 1982.
During that period, he served
terms as president of the Western
Association of Sta'e Departments
of Agriculture aand the Western
U.S. Agricultural Trade Associa
tion. He also was on the board of
directors for the National Associa
tion of State Departments of Agri
culture.
Rominger was on the board of
