Andy Andrews, staff writer for Lancaster Farming, won an hon orable mention in the Pennsylvani a Newspaper Publishers’ Associa tion's annual journalism contest A five-year member of the Lan caster Farming staff. Andrews wrote a two-part series on the chal lenges of sinkhole maintenance, published in the newspaper on November 26 and December 3 of last year. The series recounted far 60c Per Copy quet, which provides 75 percent of the Federation’s annual operating budget. “All you have to do is buy a ticket and have a good time,” said John Hoffman, executive director of the Federation. Tick ets are $125 each. Many new food items are planned for the event, according to Hoffman, including hors d’oeuvres and a new chicken entree, "Casablanca Chicken.” The social begins r member families. “Funds raised at the upcoming FARMER Dinner will be used to help ‘friends of agriculture’ get elected to the General Assembly,” explained FARMER committee chairman Jim Cappucci.“FAßM- Eß is the only political action com mittee in Pennsylvania owned and controlled by farmers for farmers.” The FARMER dinner will begin with an hour-long reception at 6 p.m. As deputy secretary, Rominger helps supervise the activities of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, (Turn to Pag* A 36) men’ experience in dealing with sinkholes, including information on sinkhole repair and a special project to fund for sinkhole repair and education.
