have close to 1,000 people go

open house for special discounts

Safety Inspections Extended
CAMP HILL (Cumberland
Co.) The safety inspections of
farm vehicles, weighing more
than 17,000 pounds, was extended
to March 6, according to an
announcement by Bradley L. Mal
lory, acting Pennsylvania Trans
portation secretary.
The deadline was Feb. 5, which
was delayed one month at the
request of the Pennsylvania Farm
Bureau.
“We appreciate the delay in the
enforcement of this new law,” said
Keith W. Eckel, Pennsylvania
Farm Bureau president. “The safe

Legislation passed in December
requires the heavier farm trucks
and truck-tractors that carry bien
nial certificates of exemption to
have the annual safety inspec
tions. The legislation (Act 115)
also increases the mileage radius
for off-farm travel by all exempt
farm trucks from 10 miles to 25
miles.
