Hurst Bros. Inc. Customer Appre
ciation Day & Open House Tues
day at the company’s Litilz dealer
ship location.
On display were a variety of
farming implements and equip
ment, such as manure spreaders,
discs, rakes, etc., as well as other
exhibits.
In addition, four speakers pro
vided seminars during the event.
Don Robinson, administrator with
the Lancaster Conservation Dis
trict, talked about what farmers
can do to keep the public calm and
understanding about farming prac
tices, and what they can do to pre
vent governmental intrusions on
the farm.
Carl Just, plant manager of the
Myerstown plant of Gehl Co., gave
a seminar on innovations in the
handling of hay, forage and mater
ials handling, while Dennis Hahn,
a product specialist with Case IH,
discussed what are considered
“products of excellence.”

underage drivers, equipment trans
portation widths, special hauling
permits, and other farming travel
considerations that carry legal
restrictions.
Those who were unable to
attend the seminars and open
house can still benefit from the
presentations, as they were video
taped.
Two tapes were required to tape
the morning session and the after
noon session. The morning session
tapes includes presentations by
Robinson and Just.
Copies of the tapes are available
at Binkley & Hurst for a nominal
fee just to cover the cost of copying
and the tape.

ranging from the state law concerning farming transportation to ways to what farmers
can do to help create a better working relationship with neighbors and government.
