The Turbo Positive™ house had
the lowest variability of tempera
ture during warm and hot outside
temperature ranges. The perimeter
baffle system had the highest stan
dard deviation of house tempera
ture for nearly all outside tempera
ture ranges. The perimeter baffle
house also exhibited a trend in
temperature stratification during
cold weather conditions.
As illustrated in Figure 5, less
fresh air may be getting to the cen
ter of the building than the sides.
Figure S shows average tempera
tures across die width of the build
ing with respect to mean house
temperature (a zero value on this
graph indicates that the average
temperature at that section of the
building was the same as the aver
age house temperature).

conditions when managing a flock
or designing a building and envir
onmental control system. Birds
that live in a section of the house
that is consistently warmer than
average will tend to consume less
feed and may not be getting their
daily nutrient requirements for
maximum production. Similarly,
birds in cooler sections of the
