Steers and heifers under 700 lbs. steady to $1 00 lower. Demand moderate to good for light receipts. Buyers less aggressive than normal due to lighter than expected receipts. 4-12 inches of snow covered the state Sunday and caused receipts to be 30 percent of expectations. Quality of supply average to attractive. Weigh-ups mostly gaunt to average. Flesh condition of feed ers slightly thin thru moderately fleshy with bulk in medium flesh. Stockers and calves average thru thin condition. Slaugh ter cows SI.SO-S2.SO higher. Bulls $2.00 higher. Demand good for limited numbers of slaughter cattle. 65 percent of the 183 cows and bulls sold to packers. Receipts this week 4,530; last week 16,073; last year 10,464. Supply consisted of 84 percent yearlings over 600 lbs.; 12 percent calves under 600 lbs.; 4 percent cows and bulls. Prices follow with weighted average weight and price in parenthesis.
