Although his scholarly works are largely for gotten, he is well-remembered as Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. Dodgson hand wrote and illustrated the first manuscript and presented it as a gift to Alice Liddell, daughter of an Oxford dean. The story was later revised and expanded for publication. A trip upriver from Oxford to Oodstow with Alice and her sisters, provided the inspiration for the story. c* Run a wire hanger between your dress and slip to elimi nate static cling.
