JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE - Thursday s Junior Livestock Sale salutes the young people of Pennsylvania agriculture, recognizing the dedication and achievements of 4-H and FFA members involved in junior market livestock programs. Gamings from the annual auction go to these young exhibitors, often enabling them to pursue careers in agriculture. The Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation now provides annual scholar ships to outstanding junior exhibitors. The funds are derived from donations, membership fees and a small percentage from the Junior Livestock Sale. We encourage you to attend the sale and support our young people. Nearly 500 head of breeding gilts and junior market swine were judged for a share of last year's prize money. TOUR THE LABS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE - Public tours of the food and plant laboratories at the Ag Building across from the Farm Show will be offered Monday through Thursday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. When walking from the Farm Show Complex to the Department of Agriculture, please use the pedestrian tunnel to go under Cameron Street. Tours will begin in the Front Lobby of the Ag Building. Pre-arranged tours are also available for agricultural groups at other times during the week. VICTORY GARDEN - The Huntingdon County Vo- Ag Department will recreate a WWII Victory Garden in the Family Comer, just as people all across America turned their yards and vacant lots into "Victory Gardens" to supplement the vegetables they could get at the grocery store. In 1943 these gardens provided more than a third of all the vegetables grown in the country.
