tive requested by State Sen. Noah
Wenger (R-36), the Farm and
Home Center here received a
$lO,OOO state grant for the installa
tion of an elevator to comply with
the federal Americans with Disa
bilities Act Wenger presented the
check to center officials on
Tuesday.
Robert Zook, president of the
Farm and Home Foundation,
thanked Sen. Wenger for his
efforts to secure the grant ‘The
funds will be used to help finance
an elevator from the auditorium
lobby to the building’s lower
level,” Zook said. "Our ability to

result of this grant, a gift from the
Lancaster County Society of Farm
Women and the Fiscal Manage
ment of the center’s board of
directors.”
The elevator, which is in con
struction right now, will allow
individuals previously unable to
travel the stairs to do so. In addi
tion, because the center will be in
compliance with the disabilities
act, it will be able to retain the
existing tenants and attract a new
tenant for the lower level office
space.
The Farm and Home Center is
used by agricultural and communi
ty service groups and since it
opened, over 26,000 meetings
have been held there, benefiting
over 1,500,000 attendees.
