off but was still about moderate. Offerings
were increasing in their availability on
some items while others remained in an

Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
wai tapering, but generally remained suffi
cient to keep current offerings balanced to
closely clewed. Live supplies were mod
erate; weights were desirable to heavy.
Processing schedules were curtailed again,
but remained very heavy in total. Lest than
tnicklot asking prices were unchanged at
SO to 61 cents. Trade sentiment was hilly
steady. In the pant complex, bone-in
breasts were well cleared to shot! Wings
were only adequate at best. Other items
were generally noted at adequate for a
lighter buying interest.

Tom Krall, a dairy farmer in Lebanon County, PA, installed a
hammer mill from Automatic Farm Systems last spring. He feels
it’s been a very wise move financially.
“I had all my feed delivered, other than silage. Now I’ll buy corn
and barley cheaper, at harvest, and save on hauling and grind
ing. My initial cost, operating cost, and maintenance cost are all
low. I expect this machine will pay for itself in a year.”
“It’s a pretty handy machine. It’s all automatic, so it doesn’t cre
ate any extra work. And it’s not dusty like a roller mill because it’s
all enclosed.”
Give us a call to learn how an AFS hammer mill will work on
your dairy operation.
