the state’s Farm Show Complex in
Harrisburg, when it was converted
for use during World War n.

However, toward the end of
WWH there were four assembly
lines set up that gave the Farm
Show Complex the ability to over
haul one aircraft engine every 10
minutes.
The people who worked on the
airplane engines are being asked to
call Fred. Wallen at the state
Department of Military Affairs,

experiences.
The special committee was
appointed by Gov. Robert Casey
and is called the Pennsylvania
WWII Commemorative Commit
tee. It has been coordinating simi
lar projects aimed at helping peo
ple understand the importance of
military and home front contribu
tions to World War 11.
Annually, thousands of people
from all over and all ages visit the
state Farm Show. This year they
can expect to see several displays
related to Pennsylvania’s agricul
turally related contributions to war
effort, including two actual aircraft
engines to be displayed in the Main
Exhibition Hall, near the spot they
were worked on SO years ago.
