convention in Montgomery,
Alabama, November 9-12. Mary
Ann Sheppard, Shorter, Alabama
was elected for a second term as
president of the national organiza
tion.
Sheppard said, “Although there
are fewer farmers, those remaining
continue to provide a plentiful sup
ply of safe, affordable food for the
United States and the world. WIFE
supports the continuation of the
1990 Farm Bill with minor
changes. We support increasing the
loan and target prices to reflect the
cost of production plus a profit.”
