Best Six Head: Champion Hill, Bldwell, Crop Disaster Funds Available LEESPORT (Berks Co.) “Farmers suffering crop loss, in 1994 due to adverse weather con ditions may apply for emergency assistance at the local Farm Ser vice Agency (FSA) office begin ning Dec. 1,” said Richard Trout man, acting chairman of the FSA committee. President Clinton announced that more than $1 billion in emer gency disaster aid is available. Although many crops are pro ducing record yields, abnormal weather patterns, causing exces sive rainfall or drought have caused substantial crop losses in isolated but widespread areas in the nation. National production was not affected, but individual losses have been severe. “The 1994 program is similar to those of recent years said Trout man. “Farmers with crop insur ance who suffered crop losses greater than 35 percent (or 40 per cent losses for those without crop insurance) will be eligible for a partial reimbursement.”
