Weigh-ups generally average. Slaughter
cows 52.00-53.00 higher. Slaughter bulls
$5.00 higher. Cow and bull trade active
with very good demand from packers.
Slaughter cows notmally move up in price
at this time of year but rejection of some
import beef helped drive the market addi
tionally higher. Total of 221 cows and
bulls sold with 75 percent to packers. 2-5
inches of rain covered the state over the
weekend. Receipts this week 6,225; last
week 14,416; last year 8,039. Supply con
sisted of 32 percent yearlings and calves
over 600 lbs.; 64 percent calves under 600
lbs.; 4 percent cows and bulls.

China for a study tour, entitled
“Strengthening Agriculture Educa
tion in North-west China” from Nov.
27-Dec. 3.
The educators, from six colleges
in China, will study the current status
of technical and vocational education
in agriculture, including rural eco
nomic development, the adoption of
modem agricultural techniques, and
the productive capacity of farmers in
long-term development programs.
