GETTYSBURG (Adams Co.)
The Tenth Annual Adams
County 4-H Beef Show and Sale
was held at the Adams County
Beef Producers Sale Barn at the
South Mountain Fairgrounds, near
Arendtsville. Sixteen Adams
County 4-H members competed at
the show and sold their steers at
the sale.
The results of the show and
sale are as follows: Ben Stine,
East Berlin, had the grand cham
pion 4-H Steer. It was bought by
Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, Get
tysburg for $3.30 a pound. The
champion steer trophy was donat
ed by the Adams County Beef
Producers Association. Hoss’s
donated the steer to the Adams
County 4-H Beef Club. The steer
wood painting clock at the annual Adams County 4-H Beef
Sale. It was bought by John Myers, left, and Tim Liv
ingston, right, for $llO. Funds from the sale of the clock
are used to support the expenses of the show and sale.

Beef Sale. The cake was bought for a record $9OO by a
group which included Byron Waggoner, left, Lee Eichel
berger, right, Tom Brass, Morrell Myers, and Jamie Boyer.
Joanne has made, decorated, and donated a cake for each
of the preceding 4-H beef sales. Funds from the sale of the
cake are used to support the expenses of the show and
sale.
4-H Champion Steer. Ben Stine, right, East Berlin,
showed the champion Adams County 4-H steer. The steer
was bought by Hoss's Steak and Sea House for $3.30 a
pound, represented by Mark Heishman, left, and Rob Har
ris. Les Millar, second right, represented the Adams Coun
ty Beef Producers Association, donor of the champion
plaque.

Son.
Kyle Grim, East Berlin, had
the reserve grand champion 4-H
steer. It was bought by Richard
Zimmerman for $1.30 a pound.
