Trip To Switzerland
Planned For
Dairy Farmers
KINGSTON (Luzerne Co.)
The 1995 Dairy Tour of Switzer
land has been announced by Paul
Nichols, long time ADADC
industry relations representative.
He said, “The goal of this Dairy
Tour of Switzerland is to present
an overview of the dairy industry
in a small country world-famous
for its Cheeses.” The tour,
endorsed by the American Dairy
Association, will leave JFK air
port Saturday evening, March 25
and return Sunday, April 2.
Nichols said, “We will have an
opportunity to visit demonstra
tion farms, working farms, and
cheese processing plants. We talk
with the farmers and the plant
administrators via our English
speaking guides. Along the way
we allow ample time for sightsee
ing and shopping. As you enjoy
the lakes and mountains of the
peaceful countryside, you will
also become acquainted with
other Northeast dairy farmers and
friends of dairying.”
The cost of the tour is $1,878
per person, double occupancy. A

those with the $2OO deposit sent
to Hays Travel by October 1.
(Single occupancy, add $290.)
Nichols said, “If you are traveling
alone* we may be able to match
roommates for a mutual savings.
This worked out well on our 1994
tour of Ireland.”
The price includes roundtrip
airfare and land transportation by
deluxe motorcoach- Breakfasts
and dinners are included as well
as services of a bilingual, profes
sional guide. In fact, said Nichols,
“About the only things not
included are lunches and sou
venirs!”
Paul and Christine Nichols
hosted a tour of Ireland in March,
1994, with about 35 dairy farmers
and friends going along. Nichols
said, “Even though we had a full
schedule, everyone was well
pleased'with the relaxed pace of
our Irish tour. So for our 1995
trip, we again asked Bob Hay of
Hays Travel in Wysox, PA to
arrange for this custom Dairy
Tour of Switzerland.”
