r The leaves are almost all off of the trees in our meadow and now I can see the Conestoga River again. Lately I’ve spent some time close to the river as I went fishing two evenings. After picking up com in the fields and husking it, I had found some big earth worms. So, I found a quiet place and fished for an hour and caught 11 fish by using only two worms. Allen skinned the catfish for me but I scaled the others. The next time that I went only five fish got caught, but they made a nice meal. Thirteen mem bers attended. Lillian Bucks, president, con ducted the business meeting. The state convention of the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania will be held on January 9 in Har risburg. The next meeting will be a craft night at the home of Sonya Moyer, Boyertown, R.D. 4. the Pennsylvania Lamb and Wool Queen. The 17-year-old daughter of Roger and Nancy Bowman lives on a small sheep farm in Lenharts ville, Berks County where the fam ily raises Dorset, Corriedale, and crossbred sheep. Stephanie is a senior at Kutz town Area High School and plans to study dairy and animal science at Penn State University. She has shown breeding sheep and market lambs as a 4-H member for .nine years. She has also participated in local and regional fairs and in lead line competition locally and at Keystone International' Livestock Exposition. She received the 1994 Pennsyl vania Dorset Breeders’ Youth of the Year Award and was chosen as the 1994 Outstanding 4-H Girl for the Reading Fair. Stephanie is also the president of the Berks County FFA. The Pennsylvania Lamb and Wool Queen Alternate is Sarah J. McCrumb.
