CB-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November 12, 1994 Agco Introduces 3 White Tractors KANSAS CITY, MO —An extended line of White Workhorse tractors was unveiled by Agco Corporation at a special product introduction held here for its deal ers. Functionally designed for rugged performance and dependability while emphasizing greater customer choice, White’s three newest entries in the high-horsepower tractor market collectively offer increased power, more transmis sion choices, and superior operator control. Expanding White’s 6100 Series tractor line, introduced in 1993, the new 6124 and 6144 Work horse models boast a powerful Cummins “B” Series six-cylinder, 359-C.I.D. (5.9 liter), liquid cooled, diesel engine. For optimum torque output and fuel performance, the 6124’s powerplant, rated at 124 PTO horsepower, is turbocharged while the 6144, rated at 142 PTO horsepower, is both tur bocharged and aftercooled. Combining the economy and value of a syn chronized transmission with the convenience of the 6100’s full powershift transmission, the innovative Quadrashift transmission offers 32 forward and 32 reverse gears through the combination of an eight speed synchronized gearbox and a synchronized forward/reverse shuttle with four-speed power shift. Each of the eight gear choices provides its own four-speed powershift range for better flexi bility and more usable power. A technological highlight of the new 6124 and 6144 tractors is an electronic 3-point hitch. Agco engineers have eliminated the wear parts and link age adjustment associated with mechanical sensing devices by introducing a 3-point hitch that elec tronically provides accurate draft and position con trols. With a twist of a knob on the 3-point control panel, the operator can easily adjust the depth, maximum height, draft sensitivity, and lowering speed for increased production and less down-time. Another unique feature on the new 6124 and 6144 models is an advanced electronic control sys tem (ECS) that automatically monitors and con trols five major tractor systems, including the dif ferential lock, Power Front Axle, PTO, low pres sure hydraulics, and transmission. The differential lock is just one focus of the ECS. Applying the brakes or raising the 3-point hitch automatically disengages the tractor’s rear differential lock. Lowering the 3-point hitch auto matically re-engages the differential lock, reducing wheel slippage. In addition, the system automati cally disengages the rear differential lock when travel speed exceeds nine mph. Perfect for larger row crop and tillage opera tions, the new 6215 White Workhorse was Agco’s most powerful high-horsepower tractor introduced. This new tractor depends on a heavy duty, liquid cooled, 215 PTO horsepower “C” Series Cummins six-cylinder, 504.5 C.I.D. (8.3 liter) diesel with wastegate turbocharging and aftercooling to power it through the toughest jobs. In addition, cylinders heads with low-swirl intake and exhaust design and a high-pressure fuel injection system with five-hde injectors ensure greater fuel efficiency. The 6215 brings all of this power to the ground with an 18-speed full powershift transmission. As used in the White 6100 Series models, it incorpo rates electronic powershift transmission control and single-lever shifting, which let the operator match ground speed to virtually any power load or operating condition.
