Lancaster Society 15
Lancaster Society of Farm Women Np. 15 met on October 20 at
the home of Arlene Hamish, Georgetown Road, Christiana. Host
esses were Helen Shoemaker and Jessie Allison. Arlene Hamish
led in the devotional. Roll call was taken by members telling of
their favorite spot in Pa. For the program Floyd Hershey, a Col
erain Township, republican committeeman and past township
supervisor, spoke on Local Government- “How it Works.” Presi
dent, Jean Barnes conducted the business meeting, with the funnel
cake committee reporting a successful year at the Solanco Fair. The
November meeting will be held at the home of Joan Whiteside.
Berks Couunty Society of farm Women Group 1 enjoyed a
“Ladies’ Night Out” in celebration of Farm Women’s Day for
their October meeting. The dinner meeting was held at the Coun
try manor, Temple. President Ruth Walters presided at the busi
ness meeting, which was attended by 17 members.
Bettye Wegmen, Oley, will be hostess for the November meet
ing to be held November 9 at 7:30 p.m. After the business meeting
there will be a time to reminisce as members review the group’s
yearbooks of past years.
