★ Will appoint an agriculture advisory board that will report directly to me as
Governor.
Will make D.E.R. user friendly and practical.
Supports legislation to create a farm safety demonstration and education
program.
Will see D.E.R. is staffed with more scientists, engineers and business experts
and fewer lawyers and bureaucrats.
In 1993, our Administration created, an Agricultural Advisory Board within the
D.E.R. giving farmers a voice in D.E.R. decisions affecting agriculture.
As Acting Governor, I signed legislation extending the Agricultural Loan
Forgiveness Program that provided college loan forgiveness to young
farmers and veterinarians.
★ As Acting Governor, I signed legislation expanding the domestic animal
disease suppression law to include wild birds and animals.
