Spotlight Of Awards At Swine Banquet
was honored as 4-H Rookie of the
Year.
Nicole, 9. daughter of Rich and
Peg Kreider, Elizabethtown, said
that at the end of the roundup, she
“still felt kind of tired.’’ Nicole
said she wanted to show because
she saw how well her brother,
Nathan, 12, did as a swine show
man. Nicole is in the fourth grade
at Fairview Elementary.
Travis Donough, 14, was hon
ored as Outstanding Member at the
banquet. During the six years as
club member, Travis has shown at
a wide variety of fairs and farm
shows and has accumulated a
“tableful” of awards, literally. At
home, an antique round table holds
the many trophies and plaques gar
nered at many events.
Travis, son of Ed and Laßue
Donough, Manheim, said that if he
has his way, the Outstanding
Member Award will join the others
at the awards table. Travis is a
freshman' at Manheim Central and
said he plans to have an ag
oriented career, perhaps in ag
engineering.
Project books awards were pre
sented to Derrick Frank, first
place; Karen Cassel, second place;
and Tina Umbrell, third place.
A special appreciation award
was presented to Warren and
Beverly Heisey family at the ban

appreciation was presented to
Roger Rohrer, Strasburg.
Chet Hughes, county livestock
agent, said that nearly 30 members
of the club will be showing at next
year’s Farm Show event.
This is the seventh year as a
countywide club, and this year
marked the ninth show and sale at
Manheim, the biggest roundup
ever. This year also marked the
