The Recognition/Awards Ban
quet, held in the Port Royal Com
munity Building, brought forth a
veritable “who’s who” in the 4-H
program in this county.
The feelings of the leaders and
other were presented in a short
writing by an unknown author,
printed in the first page of the pro
gram booklet. It used the words
from the 4-H Pledge in an impres
sive way, as follows: “Cherish the
children... For in their HEARTS
lies the joy of the seasons; In their
HEALTH lies the well being of
the world: In their HANDS, they
hold the future; And in their
HEADS are the dreams for tomor
row, which all of us can share.
God bless the Children.”

was not one dull moment during
the evening as she had the teens
present skits and other fun events,
interspersing them among the

spoke on, “What 4-H Has Meant
to Me.” Also recognized were
Dale Carnegie Graduates, Dianne
Clock and Mark Fogleman, who
spoke to the group.

Receiving the Club Communi
ty Service Award was the Rollin’
Thunder Trail Club. Runner Ups
were Teen Council and the 4-H
Critter Club. The Rollin’ Thunder
Trail Club has an impressive
record for community service. In
1991 they held a Trail Ride for
the benefit of St. Jude’s Hospital,
making it possible to give $1,300;
