Cl2*Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 15, 1994 High’s CH Mystic Wins Angus ANDY ANDREWS Lancaster Farming Staff HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) CH Mystic, exhibited by Casey High, dominated the Angus heifer competition at the Keystone Inter national Livestock Exposition (KILE) late last week, picking up grand champion female. CH Mystic 12077567 (S: WK Future 11439558, D: Mt. Valley Sapphire Kate, 10935084) won champion of the early senior heifer calves class, a September calf. Casey, Lititz, won a grand champ ionship that proved difficult to decide for Jim Hough, show judge. Hough, director of cattle opera tions for Longaberger Farm, Dres den, Ohio, chose Indian Creek Sue 340; exhibited by Rich Wilson of Indian Creek Farm, Stahlstown, as reserve champion heifer. Wilson, who picked up premier breeder and exhibitor awards, showed the April junior yearling heifer to championship. The April 1993 calf has a +12007898 registration (S: Ellanin Sky Diver +10420675, D: Prospect Eiroline 75U, 10873823). A 2-year-old bull that shows “a lot of balance for its age,” which Hough decided as class champion proves “a credit to have bulls this big and this sound” was chosen grand champion at KILE. The bull. Ml Valley Dutchman 11770636 (S: TC Stockman 11300211, D: Julies Jewel 10766015), a April 1992 bull, was shown by Abe Flory, Mt. Valley Angus, Lititz. Reserve bull was awarded to Weaverland Valley HP3I 11927134 (S: PS High Pockets 10123768, D: Leßus Errolline 9W 10902045), a March 1993 bull, exhibited by Kristin Chupp for Weaverland Valley Farms, New Holland.
