CS-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 15, 1994 New Holland Updates Skid-Steer Backhoes NEW HOLLAND, (Lancaster Co.) New Holland boom mounted backhoes have been updated for the new Super Boom* skid-steer loaders, said Product Manager Kim Robinson. In addi tion to fitting the new New Hol land loaders, the four new back hoes fit competitive skid-steer loaders as well as earlier New Holland machines. The new Pick up ‘n Go™ uni versal attachments system pro vides quick and easy backhoe hookup. “This saves time and simplifies work for excavators, drainage, utility, and building contractors,” Robinson said. “The operator’s seat is fully adjustable and features a flip-up lock. A low deck makes entry and exit easier. Control levers are more comfort able and it’s easy to reach the throttle on the skid-steer loader from the backhoe seat.” The open-center hydraulic sys tem features circuit reliefs in the boom, dipper and bucket, and anti-cavitation swing valves. Grouser stabilizer pads provide a surer footing in uneven digging Stingers Have Twin Auger Design Knight Manufacturing has announced two new 8000 Series Pro Twin slinger spreaders: the 2,400 gallon, model 8024; and the 1,800 gallon, model 8018. The new models join the very successful 3,080 gallon model 8030 Pro Twin, which was intro duced in the summer of 1993. The Pro Twins feature a patent ed twin auger design which cre ates a circulating action inside the unit, virtually eliminating bridg ing and over-aggressive forward movement of the material. The left auger moves material forward American Cyanamid Increases Sales WAYNE, N.J. American Cyanamid recently announced that sales of Counter® CR™ sys temic insecticide-nematicide dou bled this year, making it one of the fastest-growing crop protection products on the agricultural mar ket. This year alone, corn growers have treated more than seven mil lion acres with the soil-applied insecticide. According to Product Manager Kent Gutzmer, Counter CR sales far exceeded Cyanamid’s expecta tions. In response, the company has prepared to increase produc tion for the third year in a row. “We’ve expanded the capacity of our manufacturing facilities again,” he said. Gutzmer attributes the success of Counter CR to the bdhefits of controlled-release technology. “Counter CR provides growers ness News New Holland boom mounted backhoes have been updated for use with the company’s new Super Boom* skid-steer loaders, said Product Manager Kim Robinson, above. Na-Churs Honors Distributor ELIZABETHTOWN .(Lan caster Co.) Phares Auker, PARS, Inc., a distributor of Na- Churs Liquid Fertilizer, was recently honored by Na-Churs Feed Mixers MOLINE, 111. John Deere has added three total mixed ration (TMR) feed mixers to its line of equipment for the livestock and dairy industries. The trailer-mounted model 127,135, and 152 TMR feed mix ers have a mixing capacity of 270, 350, and 520 cubic feet, respectively. The largest model is also available in an optional truck-mounted version. These new mixers feature a slow-turning rotor that mixed feed ingredients and directs the material to a top and bottom auger on the left side of the machine. The top auger delivers material rearward and the bottom MOLINE, 111. John Deere has announced several value added features that will be avail able as standard equipment or as options on its 9000 Series Maxi mizer™ combines in the 1995 model year. Among these features are options such as an automatic header lateral-tilt system, a choice of high-flotation systems fort increased mobility and reduced compaction, an air-sus pension seat, and a Combine Data Center that calculates field per formance and provides settings for a variety of crops. In addition, Deere announced a range of optional features that improve performance in specific or operating condition. The new John Deere Contour Master™ tilt system permits the header to tilt laterally four degrees up and do.wn to follow varying contours of sloping fields. Agco Corporation introduced an expanded line of Agco Allis high horsepower tractors at a special product introduction held for its dealers in Kansas City. Designed for the changing needs of today’s producer, the seven new tractor models collec tively offer increased power, more engine and transmission choices, and greater operator control. The addition of four new “5 Series” powershift models com pletes the line of 9600 Series trac tors. They include the new 135- horsepower 9635, the 155-horse power 9655, the 175-horsepower 9675, and the 195-horsepower 9695. All four models offer the 9600’s rugged, cast-iron main frame, cab-forward design and a big, roomy cab. However, the “5 Series” model designation indi cates that each unit is powered by a new Series 40 liquid-cooled diesel engine. With the introduction of the Series 40 engine in the Indepen dence, Mo-built Agco Allis trac tors, Agco offers customers a choice of liquid-cooled or air cooled powerplants. The tilting frame is an integral part of the feederhouse, not an add-on, so the feeder house is the same length as the standard ver sion. This maintains the same vis ibility to the cutterbar, with no increase in front-axle loading and no change in machine balance or in crop delivery. The heavy-duty design has the strength to handle high-inertial loads of 12-row heads and 30- foot platforms. Plus, the feeder house can withstand the heavy racking loads generated when the header rapidly tilts back and forth during field operations. The higher horsepower models 9675 and 9695, meanwhile, are pow ered by an 8.7 liter (530 cubic inch) direct-injected six cylinder diesel. The engines on all four models share a significant number of big bore engine features. Among them are a high-strength alloy, cast-iron, deep skirt cylinder block with wet replaceable liners, a one-piece computer-designed cylinder head with replaceable valve guides and valve seat inserts, and large crankshaft and connecting rod bearings for high horsepower capacity.
