The additional pay ment was based on the cooperative’s “good earnings” for the 1994 fiscal year, according to Robert M. Dever, chief executive officer. At lantic’s net margin total ed $7.3 million, with more than $574 million in sales. The payment, an ad ditional milk check, supports the coopera tive’s belief that mem ber money is better spent on the farm. At lantic’s goal is to keep member investment in the cooperative at a minimum, while main taining adequate equity to operate the business. “We are pleased to make this payment to our members,” Dover said. “It supports our mission of maximizing the overall returns to members and patrons.” Atlantic Dairy Co operative represents more than 3,500 dairy farm families in Penn sylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
