NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged. The market tone
was steady to barely steady with cautious
ness reported in all areas. Demand covered
the full range and was mostly moderate.
Retail features improved demand. Supplies
of brown eggs remained short in New Eng
land. White egg supplies were at least
adequate or available.
Breaking stock supplies were adequate
from regular sources, and the undertone
was no better than steady. Light hen sup
plies were adequate to fully adequate for
the light and unaggressive demand, and the
undertone was generally steady.

Movement of ready-to-oook whole birds
-was fairly good on the generally adequate
supply of 3 pound and heavier sizes. Light
er sizes were short. Live supplies were
moderate; weights tanged 'desirable to
heavy. Processing schedules were very
heavy. Less than trucklot asking prices
were unchanged at 49 to 60 cents. Trade
sentiment was fully steady to instances
firm. Bulk parts items were in good
balance and clearing. Boneless skinless
breast were irregular but in fairly good
balance. Bone-in breast were fully steady
to firm.

trading on heavy hens. Availability was at
least adequate for this week's reduced holi
day down- time and most processing plants
