_ A homebred Hampshire lamb
earned grand champion honors at
the Yoik 4-H roundup for veteran
exhibitor Matt Trostle.
The 15-year-old Red Lion she
pherd captured the top award dur
ing the season’s first roundup,
held August IS at Weikert’s
Livestock Buying Station.
Lebanon Valley National Bank
was the winning buyer of the
champion lamb during the round
up sale which followed, paying $2
per pound for the 130-pounder.
East Berlin 4-H’er Mike Olson
took the reserve champion title
with his homebred Hampshire-
Suffolk cross. The win will help
olstein Supreme Champion
At West End Fair
LAURELTON (Union Co.) —J
& K-Vue Buford Sadie, a five
year-old Holstein, bred and owned
by Gerald and Kathy Boop of Mill
mont, took top honors at the West
End Fair dairy show. Sadie was the
grand champion of the Holstein
show and Supreme champion of all
breeds.
Danny Kenamond of Mifflin
burg showed Globe-Run-F ft N
Aerostar Lana, a junior two year
old to the reserve grand champion
ship and was named the 4-H grand
champion.
J ft K-Vue Prelude Josie, shown
by Michael Zimmerman of Mill
mom, was first place intermediate
Holstein calf and was the open and
FFA junior champion.
Dcn-Ann Counselor Tara,
shown by Jason Wolfe of Lewis
burg, was the reserve junior
champion of the open show and the
4-H junior champion.
Judge Curtis Day of Shippens
burg saw 126 entries in the show.
In the Ayrshire division. Brad’s
Rambling Rose, shown by Daniel
Rishel of New Columbia, was the
grand champion of the open show
and the FFA show.
Frosty-Ayr Vac-Fritz, shown by
Daniel Rishel. was the reserve
open and reserve FFA champion.
The4-H grand champion was Key-
Way’s Mozart Dominique, shown
by Jennifer Rishel.-
In the Jersey show, J & K Vue
Juno Fancy, owned by Douglas
Boop, Millmont, was the open and
FFA grand champion.
The reserve grand chamion and
grand champion of the 4-H show
was DAD Juicyfruit, for Jonathan
Dietrich of Mifflinburg. Dietrich
also had the open and 4-H junior
champion with Flour Springs
Imperial Eve.
In the Brown Swiss show, Mark
Mapes of New Berlin had the
grand champion with Crystal View
Improver Cookie, an aged cow.
Mapes also had the reserve
grand champion with Crystal View
Dotson Cocoa.
