McCloud Ford of Oxford, Wensel’s Car and Truck Repair of Spring City, Landhope Farms of Kennett Square, The Peoples Bank of Oxford, and Walter M. Dunlap and Sons teamed up to purchase the champion lambs shown at the 12th annual Chester County 4-H Market Lamb Show and Sale on Wednesday. August 3 at ihe West Goshen Community Fair. Forty-seven lambs were shown and sold, averaging $1.77/pound, well above the current market price of $.70. Chet Hughes. Lan caster County extension agent, was the judge for this event. Inez Stoltzfus of Elverson, who has been in the run ning for champion lamb for quite a few years with her bred and own ed lambs, exhibited the reserve champion heavyweight. It was purchased by Landhope Farms of Kennett Square for $2.50/pound. Becky Byrne had an excellent day as she also exhibited the reserve champion mediumweight lamb that was purchased by the People’s Bank of Oxford for $2.60/pound.
