his leadership the association has
grown and its records have been
computerized.
Hastings teaches courses in
resource economics and rural
development. He is an active
researcher in these areas and has
written many journal articles,

As a result of Dr. Hastings’
efforts, his department was identi
fied as a key resource unit in com
puter education at the university.
Recently, he planned and super
vised the upgrade of the college
computer laboratory making it one
of the most up-to-date computing
facilities at the university.
NAREA honored Dr. Hastings
at an awards luncheon on June 28
attended by more than 100 agri
cultural economists from the
northeastern region.
