SUMMARY: Compared to last week;
Feeder steen over 800 Ibi. $l.OO lower,
under 800 lbs. steady to $l.OO higher.
Feeder heifers and heifer calves steady.
Demand moderate to good, with moderate
to active trade. Cattle in light to medium
flesh, end heavy flesh. Receipts include a
larger percent of thin 600 weight yearlings
than in previous weeks. Weigh-ups
increased to average to full as the day prog
ressed and temperatures rose. Quality plain
through attractive. Slaughter cows
$.50-$l.OO higher. Slaughter bulls steady.
Packer demand moderate to good. Receipts
this week 12,075; last week 10,113; last
year 12,459. Supply consisted of 74 per
cent yearlings and calves over 600 lbs.; 22
percent calves under 600 lbs.; 4 percent
cows and bulls (40 percent replacements).
Prices follow with weighted average
weight and price in parenthesis.
