SUMMARY: Compared to week ago
Monday; Feeder cattle and calves firm to
$2.00 higher. After a cautious opening,
trade turned active with good demand at
the dose of the limit up cattle futures.
Quality plain thro attractive, mostly plain
to average. Weigh-ups average to full, few
gaunt. Flesh conditions light thru mod
erately fleshy, mostly medium flesh. Con
ditions and quality not as attractive to buy
ers as last week. Slaughter cows steady.
Slaughter bulls $l.OO higher. Packer
demand moderate. Receipts this week
10,100; last week 10,599; last year 10,686.
Supply consisted of 77 percent yearlings
and calves over 600 lbs; 16 percent calves
under 600 lbs.; 7 percent cows and bulls (
70% replacements). Prices follow with
weighted average weight and price in
parenthesis.

All proceeds will go to the Clinic for Special
Children, a non-profit organization, with Dr Hol
mes Morton as the attending physician Dr Mor
ton has taken a special Interest in several here
ditary diseases. By testing all newborn babies of
high-risk percent-age, he has been able to pre
vent Irreversible brain damage of many of these
young children The same tests that are done at
the clinic for *35" would cost *350" to *400" at
major medical centers, making these tests too
expensive for many parents The costs of owning
and operating this laboratory equipment are
huge, but with the funds from this annual auction
the clinic has been able to offer this service to
their clients at a price that Is affordable by the
average parent.
