Champions Bring High Prices At Troy Fair Livestock Auction

Five lambs and four hogs went
through the sale twice, with the
money from the second sale going
to benefit the 4-H • FFA livestock
program. Tuscarora/Wayne Insur
ance and Shaylor Auctioneers each
donated one lamb for resale and

three lambs back to the program.

as well.
Carolina Wholesale Furniture
purchased one of the hogs that
went through the auction the sec
ond time. When it only brought SO
cents per pound, the representative
decided to send it through the sale
again, when it brought SO cents per
pound again. Carolina Wholesale
Furniture was the successful
bidder.
“I’m going to take it home this
time.” the representative said.
“The first time it didn’t bring
enough money.”

Wyalusing Sales Cooperative
was the big volume buyer, being
the top bidder on 10 animals. Next
in line was P&N Packing of Terry
town. with seven animals
purchased.
Paul Yoachim, president of the
Bradford County 4-H Advisory
Committee wished to thank all the
buyers for their support of the sale.
“It is because of their support
that we were able to give two $5OO
scholarships Ktst year. They help
make the livestock program suc
cessful in Bradford County,”
Yoachim said.

Peace Corps environmental educa

that position, she worked with high
school students and rural farmers
teaching pesticide use safety and
basic agricultural techniques.
