Farm Photographs Of 1994 Dairy Of Distinction Winners
Arthur and Kelly Wolfe, who operate Plumside Dairy in Springville, Sus
quehanna County, purchased the dairy animals from farm owner Michael
Glelmboski in 1992. They rent the barn and house and purchase all the feed
for the herd, which includes 60 Holstelns, five Brown Swiss, and five Milk
ing Shorthorn. About 70 percent of the dairy herd is registered. Arthur and
Kelly operate the dairy with help from daughters Alisha, 10 and Melissa, 9.

The Rogers, James and sons Jimmy and Danny, farm 102 acres in Sus
quehanna County near Sprlngville. They milk 54 Holsteins and have a herd
average over 20,000 lbs. They believe you always need a good man in the
barn. He can’t do his job if you don’t have a good man in the fields. So each
person on the farm has his responsibilities. The farm has been in the family
since 1933. «
